Maria holds a formal education in photography and cinematography, having graduated from the prestigious Łódź Film School (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi) in Poland. She further advanced her studies at The New School University in New York.
